Before installing SeaDAS, delete or move any previous versions of SeaDAS and also disable any lines in your shell initialization files that set up the old SeaDAS environment (e.g. "export SEADAS=OLD_PATH_TO_SEADAS", setenv SEADAS OLD_PATH_TO_SEADAS", "source OLD_PATH_TO_SEADAS/config/seadas.env"). Do not install a new version of SeaDAS "on top of" an old version.
The first problem is that IDL 6.n for n <4>
chcon -t texrel_shlib_t /usr/local/rsi/idl_6.1/bin/bin.linux.x86/*.so
and the kernel.randomize_va_space = 0 setting.
There could well be bugs/features in the driver for my old ATI mach64 graphics (which did, however, work for SeaDAS starting with FC2).

SeaDAS: General Questions
There a news that IDL 6.4 was not working on Fedora 7 yet. For this preoblem, we can do command-line stuff, but idl hangs (and needs ctl-\ break out) if you try to use graphics. So, next better if you try RSI tech note 3092:
chcon -t texrel_shlib_t /usr/local/rsi/idl_6.1/bin/bin.linux.x86/*.so
and the kernel.randomize_va_space = 0 setting.
