Base Map

  • Base map = map which represents natural and anthropogenic entities, which are on the earth surface, drawn onto flat surface with certain scale, numbering, projection and georeference systems (article 1, point 4, Government Act no 10 / 2000)
  • Contents of the base map := fundamental data sets, which should be used as input to make regional thematic map as stuff for analysis in composing of regional spatial planning.
  • Fundamental data set in base map are:
- relief (contur, ground control points),
- hydrography (coastline, rivers, lake, etc),
- road, communication and energy networks,
- buildings,
- vegetation,
- administration boundary,
- geographical names.
