India: Infotech Enterprise Ltd has bagged a contract from Survey of India for mapping the cities of Ahmedabad and Chennai.
A team from Infotech Enterprises will complete the project in four months. Around 500 sq km of thickly populated urban areas will be covered at 1:1000 scales. The features to be captured include buildings, transport network, utility networks, communication structures, water bodies, vegetation and contours. The data will be useful for application in planning, taxation, emergency preparedness and response, security, health, civic amenities.
